But it works because one very bad trait of humanity is being dishonest. When you learn the difference between the actual concepts of fraud and dishonest, you actually know the world (especially the occidental) is run mostly by dishonesty than fraud.
Whereas the fraud happens in a specific context, being dishonest is even seen as a "good aspect" of the things we do, because it is normalized as "normality". You don't even think why you take things for granted. Without ever questioning the levels of importance and/or value. And with cars, being dishonest is what makes the makret run.
Most common people will complain about a lot of things. But what exactly they are complaining? In recent years is the price of new, old, modern, classic and virtually all kinds of cars. Especially the price of them. But how people actually judge the price of them? Simple: they don't judge the car, they don't judge the price, they don't know how to compare anything at all.
Me? I'm the sweet headache on people's head. Because cars for me are meant to be used, not stocked on a garage or a museum. Neither part of a collection. But some people think are more smart than the manufacturers. No, they arent. They never will be. No matter how much money or egocentrism on social media they try to display.
I want a Savanna FD just to prove you that you can live with a wankel rotary piston all the time. But simply stating that is not very easy. Most people want to blindly believe in a kind of passion they're not ready to take it fully.
I don't care if the car has +1.000.000 kilometers on the odometer... I don't care if the car is pretty much junk difficult to repair... I don't care if the design and style is considered ugly... I just don't like (and I'll never take it easy) the "flex culture" people do with their cars.
And these thousands of "youtub-ers", "instagram-ers", "tiktok-ers", "reddit-ers"... these supposed "common people" around the world are not fully interested in cars when they buy one, neither enjoying a project. And I'm pretty sure they'll never go full motorsport. So, that means they could waste waaayyyy less money with a basic car? No, because they are complete idiots that can't separate expectations from reality. So they have to fill their lives with expectations instead of embracing reality as it is and making their lives and bank accounts healthier.
If you're smart as me, always remember: humanity lives by dishonesty. They are too disturbed to actually face reality and what actually has value for them. Don't take whatever society gives to you for granted.
If you can judge the quality of an artistic object, correctly separated from the fans, then you might be ready to actually enjoy it. At first you buy a car just for yourself, maybe your family will be shocked. That's it. Just don't involve your friends, colleagues at the job or strangers you meet in the street.
But if you can't even stay away from it, its not my problem if you can't find the voice of reason in yourself.
