I'm pretty sure most people don't get the actual value of things produced. This goes to anything, and cars are not immune from it. But it makes me laugh at people who still believe in the system and go for it anyway. Because they'll never do what they actually meant to, when they built all the "dream" on their heads and failed to live fully.
Your dream car is actually attainable. Its just you that fall for certain systemic economical craps you believe that makes them distant. I'm not impressed by how much the idea of value people put in old cars, especially modern ones made since the 1980s. Most people I see "enjoying" cars are not into the technical details of them. A number is just a number for those who don't see beyond it.
But the good part of the culture is exactly that; you let the happy-go-lucky smile all the day. This kind of people will think cars can dive into the deepest parts of the ocean, fly above to the outer galaxies, cook the dinner, put kids to bed and play with the dogs. Seriously... I just let these people believe while I enjoy the excellent things I actually know they are excellent.
Just let them display while they can now. In the next minute they won't regret, but they don't know what will happen in the next minute. Capitalism is just like that, but some people will die refusing to live it in a financially healthy way.
Let others have FOMO. Its fine for them, anyway...
